Standout sophomore guard Liv McGill announced she will enter the transfer portal in an Instagram post today, dealing an early blow to the Gators’ lineup.
McGill led Florida in scoring in 2026, averaging 22.5 points per game en route to All-SEC First Team honors. She also etched her name in the program record books, scoring 38 points in a home game against Chattanooga on Nov. 26.
Serving as Florida’s floor general, McGill anchored the offense while providing stability on the defensive end, leading the team in steals and defensive rebounds during key stretches.
Her departure shrinks Florida’s “Big 3” to two and leaves a significant void on both ends of the court.
With the transfer portal window open, attention now turns to how new coach Tammi Reiss will respond, both in replacing McGill’s production and maintaining the rest of the roster.
