Gainesville massage therapist charged with sexual battery

A former coworker said she received prior complaints about the man from other clients

A 54-year-old High Springs man was arrested Tuesday on a felony sexual battery charge from allegations he sexually assaulted a client during multiple massage appointments.

Jason Michael Vigliotti was accused of penetrating a woman with his fingers during a March massage appointment at Affordable Chiropractic in Gainesville.

“You can’t tell anyone,” Vigliotti allegedly said during the incident. “Whatever happens here stays here.”

According to the arrest report, the woman had been receiving massage services from Vigliotti for several months and documented a series of inappropriate behavior in a journal. She recounted cases of Vigliotti moving her underwear and not properly covering her with sheets.

The victim said she wasn’t familiar with massage practices at the time and didn’t report the incidents because she wasn’t aware the behavior was inappropriate.

Vigliotti scheduled most of the victim’s appointments after regular business hours and would unlock the doors for her, according to the report. She told law enforcement she believed Vigliotti didn’t keep any records of the appointments.

During the investigation, detectives interviewed Vigliotti’s former coworker, who told investigators she had previously received complaints about inappropriate contact during massage sessions.

Vigliotti declined to speak with investigators after being advised of his rights, according to the arrest report.

The investigation remains ongoing, and detectives believe there could be more victims, according to a social media post by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information on Vigliotti’s behavior should contact Detective C. Bierman at cbierman@asco.us or 352-367-4082, according to the post.

Vigliotti was booked into the Alachua County Jail on a charge of sexual battery.
