Florida hit the road to challenge the Sooners on Sunday afternoon, and in their first SEC matchup of the season, the Gators didn’t waver from their early season dominance. They left Oklahoma with their seventh sweep of the season.
With 15 kills and a service ace, senior outside hitter Kamryn Chaney stood behind a .542 hitting percentage and notched 16 points against Oklahoma — the most of any player in the match.
The Vanderbilt transfer has irrefutably amplified Florida’s program, driving the offense and taking advantage of scoring opportunities. Chaney has posted 10 or more kills in seven of this season’s contests.
Chaney has battered a team-high 137 kills this season, and it's not her first impressive run. In her 2024-25 season with Princeton, she attained 421 kills, and in 2025-26, she had 218 on the season.
Taking on Oklahoma, Chaney clutched aggressive kills when it mattered most. She sealed the deal for Florida in the final few points of the close second set, allowing it to take the victory.
With junior setter Taylor Parks setting Chaney up for 10 of 16 kills, the two have proven to be a threatening unit at the net against the Sooners.
On Sunday, Parks recorded 35 assists, and now sits at a clean team-high 400 for the season. Parks not only dominates defensively, but she also has a notable serve, registering 15 service aces.
Against Oklahoma, the Clearwater native had nine digs, sitting three behind the team-high (12) held by sophomore libero Lily Hayes.
Beyond consistently putting up numbers, Parks and Hayes have ascended as prevailing leaders on the team. Hayes, in only her second collegiate year, has already accumulated 547 career digs. This season, she’s posted 156 digs and 32 assists. The two have played major roles in setting up Chaney to be this much of a force at the net.
Solidified by strong dynamics and coordinated rotations, Florida is on fire and hunting down each win one by one. The team stands as a top competitor and now, the No. 7 team in the nation.
