Be The Light: UF students hold candlelight vigil following Nepal earthquake

In the wake of a 7.9 magnitude earthquake in Nepal that has killed more than 7,000 people and wounded at least another 14,000 on April 25, a group of UF students held a candlelight vigil on Turlington Plaza Monday.

Beer, firecrackers and chants of “it’s great to be a Florida Gator” were flung in the air as the Gators won the national championship, quickly prompting spectators to jump out of their chairs and over the fence onto Second Avenue.
