




Thousands of students, parents, children and Gainesville residents gathered in Bo Diddley Plaza Oct. 22 for Gainesville Pride Festival’s grand return. The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but attendees came back in full force — adorned in all colors of the rainbow and representing all sectors of the LGBTQ community.

Ryan Friedenberg is a senior Sport Management student with six years of photography experience. This is his sixth semester at The Alligator. When he is not working for The Alligator, he is capturing football game days for Gator Sports Properties and managing creative media for the UF Club Hockey team. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing video games, baking, spending time in nature and watching sports.
The First Annual Great Pumpkin Bash
Oct. 12Gainesville's first Great Pumpkin Bash attracted about 200 visitors of all ages on Oct. 11. Families walked around the plaza, pushing strollers and walking dogs. Vendors sold food, drinks and clothes, while tablers offered information about their organizations. The inaugural fall festival also featured face painting, a scavenger hunt and musical chairs with polka renditions of pop songs.
