



Thousands of students, parents, children and Gainesville residents gathered in Bo Diddley Plaza Oct. 22 for Gainesville Pride Festival’s grand return. The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but attendees came back in full force — adorned in all colors of the rainbow and representing all sectors of the LGBTQ community.

Ryan Friedenberg is a senior Sport Management and is in his seventh semester at The Alligator. When he is not working for The Alligator, he is managing creative media for the UF Club Hockey team. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing video games, baking, spending time in nature and watching sports.

UF’s Lettuce Club holds its first eating competition
Mar. 10A crowd of around 40 people gathered by a bench to watch 20 members of UF’s Lettuce Club compete in a lettuce eating competition Feb. 19. Many watched with their own pieces of lettuce in hand, and some even gripped personal bottles of dressing to complement the leafy greens.
