Getting in Shape

Rodrigo Alcala, a 20-year-old microbiology junior, and his dog, Luna, cross the finish line Saturday morning during the Equal Access Clinic Network’s 22nd Annual 5K Run at Southwest Recreation Center. Alcala said this was the second 5K he and his dog had completed together. “Sometimes I felt like I was giving up but she kept on pulling me like ‘Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!’” Alcala said. “I can’t do it without her. She’s my partner.”  Alcala and Luna completed the run in about 30 minutes and placed 46th overall.
