Police have found a Gainesville High School student who has been missing since last Friday.
Marissa Jade DeVito, 16, was found in one of her classmates’ apartments by a GHS school resource officer.
DeVito spoke to Jordan Keeter, 18, during lunch at school on Friday and asked him if she could stay at his place over the weekend, said to GPD Officer Nate Ellis, GHS school resource officer.
He said she said she never intended the stay to last as long as it did.
Ellis found DeVito at Keeter’s apartment in southwest Gainesville after he was tipped off by a school resource officer at Buchholz High School.
The BHS school resource officer was told by an Alachua County Sheriff’s officer who was given a note by an anonymous woman while he was eating lunch.
Ellis said she said she ran away because she has issues with her father.
There are currently no outstanding charges and DeVito is with her father again.
