Florida freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson was named to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Watch List on Tuesday.
The award is named after former all-American and NFL MVP running back Shaun Alexander and is given to college football’s most outstanding freshman player. It was most recently won by Texas edge rusher Colin Simmons in 2024.
The Tampa native was the No. 4 ranked recruit in the state of Florida, per the 247Sports composite recruiting rankings.
Wilson shined in the 2025 Orange and Blue Game, where he set the spring game record with 195 receiving yards on 10 receptions.
“He's a big physical player, and… I've been impressed with his football intelligence, how he's been able to retain information,” Napier said post game.
Wilson is expected to play a large role in the Gators receiving core, which also features redshirt sophomore Eugene Wilson III, redshirt senior J. Michael Sturdivant and freshman Vernell Brown III.
Florida kicks off its season against Long Island on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. ET.
