An update from the Brew Crew

Corey Brewer no longer graces the front pages of Gainesville publications, but he's still making headlines.

The Final Four MVP made good on his promise to buy gifts for his parents after he signed his NBA contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

According to an Oct. 28 article in Minneapolis' the Star Tribune, Brewer disappeared one July afternoon for several hours.

When he returned he pressured his mother, Glenda, to finish getting ready so they could leave for a family dinner.

When she walked outside, she saw a new ruby-red Lexus wrapped in a ribbon.

While Glenda appreciated the gesture, she still encouraged her son to buy something for himself, so he chose a Range Rover.

When fellow 'Wolves teammate Chris Richard came back to Gainesville for the championship ring presentation at the Tennessee football game, the former UF forward said he and Brewer get lost all the time in Minneapolis despite the fact that they both have navigational systems in their vehicles.

Here's a link to a recent Brewer story in the Star Tribune.
