All of the singles wins came from straight-set victories

Even though the Gators only had about two hours in between their doubleheader matches, they still wiped out the North Florida Ospreys.

Florida (9-9, 2-5 SEC) met little resistance in the dual match and took it with a less challenging 4-0 win. The Gators ended the double header day 1-1 at the Alfred A. Ring Complex.

Doubles started with two familiar duos, while the third position included one new one. On Sunday, the Gators went 2 for 2 in the doubles portion.

The Gators’ doubles point was first secured by freshman Andreas Timini and junior Kevin Edengren, who won 6-2. The junior duo of Henry Jefferson and Jeremy Jin granted the Gators the doubles point with their own 6-2 victory shortly after.

Sophomore Francesco Cordova teamed up with junior Adhithya Ganesan and they led 4-3 (15-15) as their match went unfinished.

Florida continued its dominance, nearly perfecting its play in the singles matches, where seniors Pablo Perez Ramos and Lorenzo Claverie seized the match.

The Spaniard asserted dominance as he went up 6-1 in the first set. In the middle of that set, he went to the towel to catch his breath and analyze the match. Soon after, Ramos grabbed Florida's second point.

Following in his footsteps was Claverie, who went up 6-2 in the first set and won in straight sets, finishing with a 6-3 victory.

Sunday was not Jefferson’s best day as he fell to graduate Andreas Scott, who delivered a hammering 6-3, 6-6 performance. The Gator was spared from defeat as their match ultimately went unfinished.

But it was Timini and Edengren’s day, as the teammates shared successful singles performances. They both brought wins for Florida in dominant fashion.

Timini took the clear advantage and dominated sophomore Joao Portugal in straight sets 6-1.

Edengren, however, trailed in the beginning set but quickly bounced back to take out freshman Kyle Piqueras 6-3. He finished the evening with another 6-3 set.

Cordova is still searching for his first singles win of the season, as his match also went unfinished. UNF freshman Aron Major stayed competitive through most of the first set before dropping it 6-4, and the second set was tied 3-3 when play was stopped.

This match concludes Florida's six-game home stretch as they look to continue SEC play with their first of two away matches, starting with Alabama at 2 p.m. on Friday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
