Florida Gators forward/center Alex Condon (21) celebrates with the fans after a win in a basketball game against the Auburn Tigers in the Final Four round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.

Florida Gators forward Alex Condon withdrew his name from the NBA Draft and will return to UF, per ESPN.

Condon will rejoin a Florida roster that returns forward Thomas Haugh and center Rueben Chinyelu.

The Perth, Australia, native entered his name in the NBA Draft April 16 after two seasons at Florida. The former Gators center had until Wednesday to make a decision regarding his professional career.

“We’ve had good conversations with Alex,” Florida head coach Todd Golden said May 22. “We’ve been really respectful of his process, and he’s been great in terms of communicating with us. I'm cautiously optimistic, but we're going to be very mindful of his process.”

Condon became a fixture in the UF starting lineup in 2024-25, averaging 10.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game and led Florida with 49 blocked shots. He earned second-team All-SEC honors from USA Today and third team honors from coaches.

He immediately exceeded expectations during his freshman season, averaging 7.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Condon became the first Gator to make his first career start in the NCAA Tournament, doing so against Colorado.

The 6-foot-11 forward was a projected borderline first round pick, per multiple sources. He was the No. 31 ranked player in the draft, per ESPN.

“Obviously if he did not return it would be a blow,” Golden said. “We have some contingency plans, but we want Alex back.”
