Chris Dodson’s criticism of President Barack Obama’s campaign against Fox misses the point.
MSNBC is certainly partisan, but that does not mean it has anything in common with Fox.
There is a difference between being partisan and lying. On health care, Fox lied. MSNBC got it right.
On the New York City mosque, Fox unabashedly employed racism and hate-mongering. MSNBC employed compassion and common sense.
From a fact-checking point of view, Fox and MSNBC have nothing in common. MSNBC could probably do its message a favor and tone down the sensationalism.
However, if methods of research and journalism with a sense of integrity lead an organization to support one party over another, as displayed with NPR, we should be careful not to mistake this happening for partisan hackery.
I encourage anyone who disagrees to fact check Fox News and MSNBC.
