It’s been a long and crazy road to these midterm elections with lots of rhetoric and lots of ridiculous commercials. However, now it’s time to have a moment of seriousness before we go to the polls in less than two weeks.

This letter is in response to a number of articles, editorials and letters to the editors over the last month or so. Although I intend to address issues from the Dove World Outreach Center to the upcoming Tim Tebow Super Bowl advertisement, my message is somewhat cohesive: Stop apologizing for bigotry.
I would like to express my disappointment in the argument being put forth by Mr. Harringer in his letter in Monday's Alligator. It is unfortunate that it is not easier to find consensus in condemning the wearing of hateful religious messages in schools.
