UF employees now have a few extra days to enjoy the holidays.

UF Interim President Dr. Donald Landry announced three new paid holidays for faculty and staff over the course of the upcoming holiday season: Nov. 26, Dec. 24 and Jan. 2. The announcement said the additional days are intended to give employees additional time to rest, recharge and spend with their loved ones.

UF employees have ten paid holidays listed on UF’s official website, including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day and Christmas.

Earlier this week, Gov. Ron DeSantis closed state offices on the same days, giving state employees three additional days off.

“Our state employees have worked hard throughout the year,” DeSantis said in a news release. “I hope they enjoy additional time off with loved ones and friends this holiday season.”

UF Health clinical operations will continue with regular schedules, and employees deemed essential or critical to campus operations are advised to coordinate with supervisors for holiday schedules.

In his message to the university community, Landry expressed appreciation for staff and faculty contributions to the university, saying their work “makes UF a remarkable place to learn and grow.”
