On Tuesday night, police received reports of a possible shooting at the Majestic Oaks Apartments near Oaks Mall, according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
A vehicle crashed into the building, causing significant damage before deputies arrived, according to the post. The vehicle had left by the time deputies got there.
A crowd of people were arguing, according to the post, but several of the people involved told the deputies they heard gunshots and believed someone had been shot.
A local hospital told deputies a man came in with a gunshot wound, and deputies learned he was shot during the incident at the apartment complex.
