UF coach Urban Meyer said Monday he wasn't happy with Western Kentucky's bench in the Gators' 49-3 victory over the Hilltoppers on Saturday.
Late in the third quarter, sophomore quarterback Tim Tebow ran out of bounds by the Hilltoppers' bench œ trying to avoid a big hit œ and was blatantly hit in the face by a Western Kentucky player. The infraction resulted in a 15-yard penalty.
"When a guy stands up on a bench and takes a shot at your quarterback, I was a little disappointed in that," Meyer said.
Meyer was not able to see the incident when it first happened but viewed it later on the game?s video footage.
DEFENSIVE LINE SHUFFLE: Freshman Torrey Davis said he and sophomore Brandon Antwine have been practicing with the starting defensive line.
Antwine is listed on UF's unofficial depth chart ahead of Javier Estopinan, who started at nose tackle against Western Kentucky on Saturday.
ANDERSON UPDATE: Sophomore cornerback Markihe Anderson might be able to take off that knee brace he?s been sporting for the past couple weeks.
Anderson sprained his right knee Aug. 25 but was able to practice in full pads Tuesday afternoon.
"He's not game ready yet, but it's only Tuesday," Meyer said. "He's going to play. How much, we're going to see."
Anderson said he has no pain in his knee and has been trying to practice as hard as his knee will allow.
The sophomore had earned a starting job before his injury, but he said it wasn't that frustrating to experience the setback.
"I mean, things happen," Anderson said. "I'd love to be out there, so all I got to do is wait on the doctors."
ETC.: Cornerback Markus Manson sprained his ankle and was carted out of practice. Meyer said the extent of the injury was not known at the time.
Former USC running back Emmanuel Moody left practice in full pads, which means he likely practiced. Moody will not be eligible to play this season due to NCAA transfer rules.
