Gainesville woman arrested for hitting woman with her car

She threatened to shoot the woman and then ran her over in a car

Anquitte Quinn was arrested Tuesday night on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated stalking and aggravated battery.

The 35-year-old followed the victim, Brea Bowers, across town to her apartment complex, Oakbrook Condominiums, and challenged her to a fight over a year-long dispute between the pair, the arrest report said.

Quinn then pointed a gun at Bowers and threatened to shoot, according to the arrest report. A witness caught the dispute on video.

The witness told police the two agreed to go to a different location to fight and that the victim was walking down SW 16th Avenue followed by Quinn in her Hyundai Elantra.

The two started arguing and Quinn suddenly accelerated and hit Bowers with the car, throwing her onto the hood, the witness told officers. Quinn then “sped off” with the victim hanging onto the side of the car.

The witness also showed officers a video of Quinn following Bowers in the car.

After several yards, Quinn slammed on her breaks throwing the victim onto the pavement, Bowers told police.

Quinn then drove away and was later arrested at her place of work on the other side of town, according to a GPD Facebook post

The victim had “serious injuries to her nose, mouth, face and right hand,” according to the arrest report.

Quinn told officers she did not intentionally hit Bowers with her car and that no gun was involved in the incident as her firearm was locked up at home. However, officers found marijuana and the black pistol used during the incident in her car, according to the arrest report.

Bowers told officers this was not the first time Quinn has attacked her.

Quinn is being held without bond at the Alachua County Jail, according to jail staff. Her next court date is set for Dec. 9.
