The Colourist introduces a new EP that explodes with crisp fruity vocals, positive lyrics, and bouncy engaging songs.

The Colourist explodes with blinding energy and dynamic in their new four song EP, Lido. The songs reverberate bright and passionate with uplifting messages that will help people survive their lengthy, tiresome days.

The vocals of Adam Castillo and Maya Tuttle help the album exceed expectations. With fresh, smooth voices and a great range, the two alone are distinctive and embracing. Their voices mesh together fluidly, standing out against persistent backbeat of the percussions, a blend of clapping and drum work. The jumpy guitar strums recall music of bands such as Grouplove, Two Door Cinema Club, and Vampire Weekend.

The California-originated band’s success is largely due to the chemistry between the members and the positive vibe emanating from most of their lyrics. The songs deal with love and problems within relationships in a bubbly, fun way. With songs such as “Fix This” and “We Won’t Go Home” in which Castillo and Tuttle harmonize about improving their relationship. In their most popular song “Little Games,” they sing about the lies within the relationship.

Their powerful, light songs all contain the beat and vocals to lighten up anyone’s day.
