Cody Wilson is a 25-year-old University of Texas law student, self-proclaimed market anarchist and co-founder of the arms manufacturing company Defense Distributed. The company has managed to set itself apart from other arms manufacturers because its fully functional handguns and semi-automatic rifle components are available for free to anyone with an Internet connection and access to a 3-D printer. With the advent of 3-D printable firearms and the mass distribution of them via Internet downloads, Wilson has been dubbed one of the “15 Most Dangerous People in the World” by www.wired.com and National Security blog, Danger Room. The only people who should really consider Wilson and company dangerous are law makers and anti-gun enthusiast on Capitol Hill.

Controversy concerning Section 735 of the Agricultural Appropriations Bill, also known as the Monsanto Protection Act, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama, has been somewhat overlooked during the Supreme Court of the United States’ review of the Defense of Marriage Act. However, environmentalists are no less hesitant to espouse their anti-science, interventionist stance concerning genetically modified organisms, also known as GMOs.
The UF Students for a Democratic Society and UF Libertarians are co-hosting an anti-drone week of action to raise awareness about what they believe to be UF’s involvement in military drone research.
Last week, the Supreme Court heard arguments on two marriage equality laws: the Defense of Marriage Act and California’s Proposition 8. Decisions will not be released for several weeks, but the cases show the direction our country is heading.
