Kenneth Tihoco, a 21-year-old UF sophomore, watches a video about Hispanic Heritage Month that asked students around UF why they were proud to be Latino or Latina. Tihoco was invited by friends to come to the event. “I really like how proud people were about their culture,” Tihoco said about the video.

UF’s Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony: Not Just Our Genetics featured videos from Hispanic cultural clubs around campus, including the Hispanic Student Association and the Cuban American Student Association, at Emerson Alumni Hall Sept. 14, 2015. About 200 students attended the event, which promoted the importance of hispanic culture.

Arik Benlevy, a 19-year-old finance sophomore, helps students post his or her good deeds on the Twin Towers memorial table Friday during the 9/11 Good Deed Marathon.
