‘American Horror Story’ sets up for a Supreme season

The latest season in the disturbing anthology “American Horror Story” has all the elements of a successful Disney Channel original movie or cult CW series. “Coven” has young adults, an evocative boarding school, magic and a sense of danger. Except, unlike the attractively cast whim-indulgent shows of teenage TV, “Coven” does not portray a fantasy you want to vicariously live through. Rather, it is your worst nightmare.

Fall for chicken by cooking with apples — for the kidneys

Pumpkins and nutmeg get all of the attention this time of year, but there isn’t any reason we can’t show some fall love to a year-round favorite: chicken. This recipe makes a great entree for any fall festivities you plan! It’s fast, easy and will make your guests want to keep coming back for more. As college students, it’s sometimes hard to make enough time to cook a full meal, but you can pair this chicken with mashed potatoes or rice for a well-balanced and kidney-friendly meal.

STARKE — “Lord, hear our prayer,” sang a group of activists as they stood before the Florida State Prison on Tuesday evening. Rain clouds loomed over the prison as more than 40 people gathered to protest the lethal injection of death-row inmate William Happ.
