We should all be advocating for the LGBTQ+ community and their rights

At UF, the month of April is more than just the last month of the Spring semester. April is Pride Awareness Month (PAM). Throughout the month, about 20 events address issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate its culture. The events are not limited to members of the community — anyone can come to celebrate or learn more.

Gators use pitching, late-game heroics to down Missouri

Missouri pitcher Andy Toelken, who had thrown ball one to Gators third baseman Jonathan India on the first pitch of his final at-bat, didn’t have the confidence of his coaching staff. So with a man on second and first base open in the bottom of the eighth inning, catcher Brett Bond stood up behind the plate, raised his right hand out to the side and signaled Toelken to intentionally walk India with the next three pitches.

Students enjoy black cultural community but want more

After a 2015 The Washington Post article reported the plunging numbers of UF’s black students, the former vice president for Student Affairs commissioned the Black Student Affairs Taskforce — a group of staff, faculty and students — to research how to improve the campus experience for black students.
