A student from Gainesville was charged early Wednesday morning for allegedly stealing a scooter.According to the Gainesville Police Department report, it was around 1:45 a.m. when a Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a red scooter. Jalen Kelsey-Patterson reportedly fled from the ASO deputy on the scooter.Kelsey-Patterson, 23, fled to Woodland Park Apartments, located on SE 20th Place, where he allegedly abandoned the scooter and continued on foot. Kelsey-Patterson was the only one on the scooter, according to the arrest report.

Law enforcement arrested a Gainesville woman charged with robbery of the TD Bank at 7515 W. University Ave. on Tuesday morning.According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Sacoya Everts, 47, walked into the bank at around 8:50 a.m. After pausing to cover her hands with socks, Everts handed a teller a handwritten note stating, “This is a robbery.”The teller provided her with a stack of money as well as a GPS tracking device, following TD Bank protocol. Everts took the money and placed it in the front of her clothes, according to the ASO’s arrest report.The bank manager, who witnessed the transaction, and the bank teller both activated the silent alarms as Everts walked out the door, the report said. The manager then secured the doors to the bank and saw Everts walk east on West University Avenue until she was out of sight.
