The Gainesville Police Department arrested a 24-year-old former caregiver Monday on two counts of elder abuse.

A 24-year-old inmate at the Alachua County Jail was found dead in his cell Tuesday afternoon. The Alachua County Sheriff's Office is conducting a two-part investigation to determine how the inmate died and if his death could have been prevented.
Terry Martin-Back, a 68-year-old Gainesville resident, was booked into the Alachua County Jail around 4 p.m. Monday. He’s being charged with written threats to kill, do bodily injury or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, according to his arrest warrant.
