Student Government campaign rules obstruct free speech

During the Summer while most of us were away, members of the majority Swamp Party — then the Unite Party — in your Student Senate made an absurd rule stating that if anyone encourages you to vote for them in a Student Government election more than a week before the vote takes place, they could be disqualified from the ballot.

Student clubs responsible for registration growth

Pam Carpenter, Alachua County supervisor of elections, said about 1,500 to 3,000 forms are received each week. Since the primary, there has been an increase of 5,172 voters in the county, which she said is largely due to student registration organizations.

Young Life program starts at UF

UF and Santa Fe College students are invited on a photo scavenger hunt from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday starting at the Vineyard of Gainesville and ending at Thornebrook Village as a recruiting event for Young Life College, a non-denominational Christian program that helps students develop their faith.
