Johnson’s Journal: In rivalry tilt both teams did what they do best
By RICHARD JOHNSON | Nov. 30, 2014TALLAHASSEE — As Treon Harris lined the Florida offense up with fourth and the ballgame to go, I scanned the crowd of 82,485 at Doak Campbell Stadium. My eyes met briefly with a female Florida State fan, and she smiled at me. It wasn’t one of those happy smiles, it was a nervous one, an "oh crap there’s still a chance we might lose this game," kind of smile. I just assumed she was new around these parts. Perhaps she had woken from a coma last Sunday and this was her first FSU game this season.

The chomp: Pascal's Coffeeshop
By Caitlyn Burnitis | Nov. 28, 2014With finals coming up and temperatures rapidly dropping, sometimes what us students need the most is a nice, relaxing place with some good food for long study sessions. Panera Bread, Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts can get noise, which can often cause a dilemma for students wanting to find a quiet place to study. Pascal’s Coffeeshop, located on 112 NW 16th St., provides just that.

By Alyssa Holcomb | Nov. 25, 2014Dancing bears! Snow-covered mountain tops! A children’s choir singing “Let It Go” in perfect harmony! None of those things were featured in this year’s American Music Awards, but the actual performances and big-name acts were just as eye catching. (And hey, there was the occasional politically twinged joke from the show’s host, Mr. Worldwide. I mean, Mr. Dale. I mean, Pitbull.)
