An article in Wednesday's Alligator incorrectly stated that The Living Room art gallery at Hillel is affiliated with the Jewish Student Union. The article also incorrectly identified Alyssa Drake as the promotions director for Hillel. She is promotions director for The Olam restaurant

Director of Oscar–nominated film visits Gainesville

Tania Hermida is an independent filmmaker with a vision to show truth and important stories. Best known for her role as second assistant director for the Oscar-nominated independent film "Maria Full of Grace," her first feature film "Que tan lejos" (How much further), which will be shown at the upcoming Gainesville Latino Film Festival, was a product of her desire to create a "road film."

Government shouldn’t interfere with women’s access to care

On Aug. 21, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced it is moving forward with a proposed regulation that, if enacted, would jeopardize women's health care by allowing providers to withhold services and critical information women need to make fully informed decisions about their health care. It also treads on democratically enacted state policies aimed at ensuring access to health care for the state's citizens.

Gator Party not just for Greeks

The allegations that the Gator Party is actually the "Greek Party" are ridiculous. As a Gator Party senator, I can say with absolute sincerity that this is not true. The Gator Party prides itself on enlisting qualified and outstanding leaders from different organizations at UF, many of whom have no Greek-based involvement.

UF making changes one year after Taser incident

One year ago today, then-UF telecommunication senior and former Alligator columnist Andrew Meyer was shot with a Taser gun after questioning former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry at an on-campus town hall forum.
