UF alumni identified from the Surfside Champlain Towers South Condominium

Three University of Florida alumni were recovered and identified from the rubble of the Surfside Champlain Towers South condominium after it partially collapsed on June 24. 26-year-old Argentinian Nicole “Nicky” Langesfeld and 28-year-old Venezuelan Luis Sadovnic were both recovered from the site on July 7, exactly two weeks after the collapse.

Student Government will transfer $1.55 million from its reserves to improve student experience

After over a year of virtual programming, UF Student Government is using $1.55 million from its reserve account to enhance the student experience. The transfer allocates $750,000 to Student Government Productions, $500,000 to student organizations, $250,000 to the Accent Speakers Bureau and $50,000 to the Student Government Cabinet.
