F.L.A. gallery hosts first show

At the opening of F.L.A. Gallery, at 10 N. Main St., descending shelves adorned with oranges covered the walls on one side of the room, while aquatic patterns embellished the stark white wall in a sea of blue, purple, green and black on the other.

Study shows US among most expensive countries for college

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s annual “Education at a Glance” report, which studies the education systems of countries across the world, showed it costs a U.S. student between $116,000 and $117,000 to pursue a college degree, including direct costs and a calculation of possible wages lost while in school.

Tracy Morgan to join Gator Growl as comedian

The Growl, billed as the largest student-run pep rally in the world, will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The theme of the 89th Gator Growl is “United We Growl,” according to a news release.

Documentary shows film industry’s “Side By Side” evolution

Directed by Chris Kenneally and produced by actor Keanu Reeves, “Side by Side” premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival to critical acclaim. With interviews with film experts from every level, also conducted by Reeves, the documentary tracks the progression of how films are made and the impact that technological change has on not only film, but on its audience.

Column: Benching Debose right move

Andre Debose grinned from ear to ear as he celebrated on EverBank Field at the end of the 2011 season. Florida had just beaten Ohio State 24-17 in the Gator Bowl, and Debose hoisted the Most Valuable Player trophy high above his head. The hopes for his 2012 campaign flew even higher.
