Gators to rely on youth against LSU

Florida’s women’s basketball team has struggled this season against top opponents. Through six matchups against ranked teams this year, the Gators have lost them all, and that includes their last four contests. Fortunately for coach Cam Newbauer’s squad, its next game comes against unranked LSU on Thursday at the O’Connell Center. For this game, UF will continue to rely on its young players.

Florida guard Lavender Briggs led the team in scoring against Wake Forest with 23 points.

Gators fall to Wake Forest in West Palm Beach Invitational

When Florida’s women’s basketball team faced Wake Forest in the second round of the West Palm Beach Invitational, its top-four scorers: guards Lavender Briggs, Kiara Smith and Kristina Moore as well as forward Zada Williams got plenty of buckets. And they scored at an efficient pace -- all four combined to shoot 57 percent from the field.
