Trio of Gators advance in tournament

Three Gators advanced on the second day at the Bedford Cup, but top-seeded Bob van Overbeek was not one of them. Florida State’s Dominic Controne defeated van Overbeek 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets during the round of 16.

Spangler bringing new attitude to Florida cross country

First-year head coach Paul Spangler graduated from Alabama. He also received a master’s degree from Florida State. However, when the opportunity arose for the homegrown Florida boy to become the leader of UF’s cross country teams, he took advantage of it.

Pease: Line is UF’s strength

Texas A&M’s eight sacks against Florida on Saturday did not faze offensive coordinator Brent Pease. He believes the Gators’ offensive line is the “strength of the team.”
