French producer CloZee to hit Gainesville for the first time

High Dive is preparing for an evening of electronic music with French performer CloZee on Sunday. Local acts Les Voss and Losa Folk will provide opening support for the show.

CloZee is based out of Toulouse, France, but has done shows all over the world including the U.S., where she performed at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and recently opened for dubstep artist Bassnectar at his Bass Center X event.

On Sunday she will visit Gainesville as part of her “Harmony” tour. Under the umbrella of electronic music, CloZee describes her music as “world bass,” according to her website.

“I feel like she is maybe not as well-known as she should be,” opener Losa Folk said. “People need to take advantage of this because soon we won’t be able to get CloZee here, she’ll be so big.”

Losa Folk is the stage name for Brady Bauer, a 22-year-old local DJ and UF aerospace engineering fifth-year.

Bauer said he is drawn to the unifying effect music has on people. He believes this effect is deeply rooted in human nature, as he quoted Nikola Tesla in saying, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

Tickets for CloZee’s stop in Gainesville are available at ticketfly.com, High Dive and Hear Again records for $15 in advance of the show and $18 at the door. Doors open at 9 p.m. with music starting at 10 p.m.
