Hungry UF students without cash and a low balance on their Gator 1 Cards have a new payment option for on-campus dining, according to Student Government officials.

Credit cards are now accepted at four dining areas around campus: Capeesh, Little Hall Express, Graham Oasis and Beaty Market, said Sen. Kevin Reilly, a Gator senator who represents District B.

All of the dining areas on campus will follow suit within the next two weeks, including the remaining restaurants at the Reitz Union and the Hub, Reilly said. Vending machines will not be included in the upgrade.

Students will not have to pay a surcharge for using credit cards, he added.

UF Student Body President Ryan Moseley said his administration began working on the project as soon as he took office.

Most of the credit, Moseley said, goes to ARAMARK, the company that provides UF's dining services. ARAMARK handled all technical issues, he said.

"We're really excited," Moseley said. "We want our projects to be geared toward making real differences and tangible benefits for students."
