After non-conference foes, Gators ready for Tennessee rivalry week

It's finally here.

Tennessee week again opens the Southeastern Conference season for No. 5 UF (2-0), and everybody knows how big this rivalry has become.

Even after scoring 108 points in two games, the Gators' impressive offense has more to show off.

"We've got a lot of weapons and some of them ain't even exposed yet," offensive tackle Carlton Medder said. "We've got three running backs that are dynamic, you just haven't seen them yet."

Quarterback Tim Tebow knows how big this game is.

He has watched or attended UF-Tennessee games since the early ?90s, and can rattle off rivalry information like he?s reading from a box score.

"Preparing for a game like Tennessee, just a rivalry game like that, it's different," Tebow said. "We talked about it, how those games are different, and they?re special."

TEBOW EARNS HONOR: Tebow earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.

Tebow completed 18 of 25 passes for 236 yards against Troy, and added 93 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.

He paced UF's offense to touchdowns on the first seven drives of the game.

INJURY UPDATE: Return specialist Brandon James (sprained ankle) and wide receivers Jarred Fayson (knee) and Percy Harvin (tendinitis) are expected to play Saturday. Reserve safety Bryan Thomas (MCL sprain) will not suit up.

Meyer said he still hopes offensive tackle Phil Trautwein will come back this season from a stress fracture in his right foot.
