I'd imagine UF fans are experiencing an odd
feeling right now, down to Auburn 14-0 at the half.
It has been so long since they've had to
stomach a loss in, well, anything, that I doubt they know how to
handle this.
The game isn't over by any means, but the
Gators have got to get their offense going.
UF ran just six plays for five yards in the
first quarter, and things didn't go too much better in the
second.
They finally showed signs of life on their
last drive, but penalties turned a promising drive into a
desperation fumble on 4th and 9.
The defense has been nothing but a speed bump
for Auburn, and suddenly Brandon Cox - who was benched earlier this
year - is looking like the Heisman candidate.
The coverage has been poor and the pass rush
almost nonexistent.
It only takes a few plays to get into Cox's
head, and when he starts hearing footsteps he is much less
effective.
It's not time to panic yet, but if UF can't
get the offense moving or some pressure on Cox they'll have to
watch the Tigers ruin another perfect record.
