It never ceases to amaze me how liberals are able to cast any situation in a light that is beneficial to them; the most recent case in point being the infamous "Don't Tase me, bro" incident Monday on our campus. In the amount of time it takes to upload a shaky video on YouTube, the liberal talking points were already spelled out: Fascist police use force to squash free speech.

However, for those who were there or the millions who watched the incident online, they will see a slightly different story. They will see an aggressive questioner who was disrespectful to the police, the audience and Kerry with his well-prepared act. They will see an overdramatic ideologue who watched too many History Channel specials on the Civil Rights struggle and Vietnam protests attempt to seize his moment of immortality.

But moreover, they will see an arrogant, antagonistic student whose immaturity led to his being Tasered and carted off to jail for the night. Once he began flailing and violently resisting the orders of the police, it was their responsibility to each student here to use whatever practical means in getting Meyer subdued.

I applaud the UPD for its patience and restraint in dealing with this unpredictable situation.
