Student leaders from across the state had the opportunity to talk shop with Florida Gov. Charlie Crist on Tuesday, including UF Student Body President Ryan Moseley.
Moseley said he and the other 10 student body presidents from Florida's public universities met with Crist for about an hour as part of Florida's College Savings Month in September.
Moseley described the meeting as a "polite conversation" at the Governor's Mansion. The group discussed issues including tuition raises, Florida's budget crisis, physical education and campus safety.
Moseley said it was his first time meeting Crist, adding that it was a good first impression.
"He was a smooth character," Moseley said. "He definitely seemed to know his stuff."
Moseley also said "he definitely knew all about physical education and stuff," and that Crist said he swims every day.
Crist was also willing to listen, Moseley said, which was a "huge positive."
"Crist said, 'I could talk and tell you what's going on, but I want to hear more from you guys,'" Moseley said.
