Hip-hop artists Lil' Wayne and Fabolous are coming to the O'Connell Center on Monday.
However, the night won't focus entirely on rap music. Social Studies Inc., the promotions company planning the event, is hoping to spread drinking and driving awareness.
Nick Roses, the vice president of media relations, said the company wanted to help people with a local issue.
A portion of the money collected will go to the Corey Dahlem Benevolent Fund, which was created when Gainesville police Lt. Corey Dahlem was killed by a drunken driver after the spring basketball championship game.
"Everyone here are pretty much students or graduates of the university," Roses said. "They all knew about Corey Dahlem. It clicked for them."
The money in the fund goes toward college costs for Dahlem's children, Katie and Brandon. This includes housing, tuition and textbooks.
Katie Dahlem said the fund has been a big help. "It shows how much the community has done for me and my family," she said.
Sally Dahlem, their mother, said she hopes the awareness will save lives and show people how drinking and driving can affect families.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the performance will start at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets run from ,36 to ,101. Students can get ,5 off with a valid student ID. Tickets can be purchased through the University Box Office or Ticketmaster.
