Media likes Brooks, not much else in preseason rankings

Coach Amanda Butler has said during this preseason she feels her team may

surprise some people this season.

If the Gators do, go ahead and count the media among those who will be

surprised.

UF (11th of 12 in the SEC last season) was selected to finish 10th in the

media's preseason poll.

One bright spot was junior guard Sha Brooks earning preseason Second Team

All-SEC honors. Brooks led the Gators with 15.4 points per game and was an

honorable mention for the AP All-SEC teams last season.

Junior forward Marshae Dotson (Coaches' Second Team All-SEC last year) was

one of five players who did not make this year's preseason teams but did

receive votes.
