The debate over immigration in the United States is coming to UF on Wednesday.
Jerome Corsi, co-author of the book "Minutemen: The Battle to Secure America's Borders," will argue the issue with Juan Andrade, president of the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute.
The debate will take place at 8 p.m. in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom, stated a news release from Accent, Student Government's speakers bureau.
Steven Blank, chairman of Accent, did not know how much the two would be paid.
Corsi, who holds a Ph.D. in political science from Harvard University, has criticized President Bush's scarce enforcement of border-protection laws and his support for creating a North American Union, the release stated.
Meanwhile, Andrade has worked to increase Hispanic presence and voter turnout in the U.S.
He is one of only two Hispanics to receive the Presidential Medal for "performance of exemplary deeds to the nation," the release stated.
Blank said the debate would be an exciting cap to the fall semester.
"These two have never met, but they're very polarized for their causes," Blank said.
Accent speeches have been igniting controversy all semester, after Andrew Meyer was Tasered in September and Alberto Gonzales' speech last week spurred protest.
