And the key individual matchups are…

Here are some key individual matchups for tonight's game against South Carolina.

1. Gamecocks QB Blake Mitchell vs. Gators CB Joe Haden

Many are expecting South Carolina and Mitchell to light it up through the air, and Haden's been the most consistent corner for UF this year. Wondy Pierre-Louis played better last week, but he hasn't shown he can be consistent. Also, safety Major Wright still isn't 100 percent healthy, and replacement Kyle Jackson is just, well, not doing that well. Mitchell's played well against the Gators before, and expect him to do so again.

Edge: Mitchell

2. Gamecocks S Emanuel Cook vs. Gators WR Bubba Caldwell

While South Carolina's run defense has been terrible, its pass defense is among the league's best, and it's led by Cook. But the Gamecocks haven't faced a receiving corp as talented as UF's. If Caldwell and Percy Harvin keep their momentum from last week, Tim Tebow will find a way to put up numbers.

Edge: Caldwell

3. Gamecocks RB Cory Boyd vs. Gators DT Mike Pouncey

The Gators so called "one-week wonder" needs to hold the Gamecocks rushing attack to a minimum. Pouncey and MLB Brandon Spikes have been credited with re-energizing a previously sluggish defense, and the Gators played well last week against Vanderbilt. Can they do the same on the road? UF keeps saying its no longer a young defense with nine games under its belt, but will

the Gators keep backing that up? That's hard to say.

Edge: Boyd
