Jerry Seinfeld is coming to UF to make jokes about nothing.

Seinfeld, famous for playing a semi-fictional version of himself in the NBC sitcom bearing his name, is returning to Gainesville on Feb. 22. The stand-up comedian was a past performer at Gator Growl.

Seinfeld has won a Golden Globe and Emmy award for "Seinfeld," which he co-created, wrote for and eventually produced.

According the show's Web site, it was ranked No. 1 on TV Guide's 2002 list of the "50 Greatest Shows of All Time."

Seinfeld was recently named "the master stand-up comic of his generation" and "the best comedian of our time" in a Washington Post article by Tom Shales, a UF press release stated.

Seinfeld will perform two shows, one at 7 p.m. and one at 9:30 p.m., at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets go on sale today at noon and are available at the Phillips Center Box Office and through Ticketmaster.

Ticket prices on ticketmaster.com range from ,61 to ,76.
