UF defensive end Derrick Harvey will forgo his senior season and enter the NFL Draft.
Harvey, projected by many as a first-round pick, pondered leaving after last season, when he capped his breakout campaign by earning BCS Championship Game defensive MVP honors.
"Derrick has informed the coaching staff of his decision to enter the NFL Draft," UF coach Urban Meyer said. "We appreciate his effort and dedication to the Gator program and we wish him the best of luck. "
Despite facing more attention from opposing offenses, Harvey racked up 8.5 sacks this year.
UF returns its other starting defensive end, sophomore Jermaine Cunningham, and has talented freshmen Carlos Dunlap, Justin Trattou and Duke Lemmens lined up as possible replacements for Harvey.
