UF Student Government will sell old UF yearbooks next week to benefit the Institute of Black Culture and the Institute of Hispanic-Latino Cultures, known as La Casita.

Nicolette Nowak, SG sponsorship secretary, said SG would sell about 500 yearbooks from 2006 and 2007 on the Reitz Union Colonnade from Monday until Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Nowak said both cultural institutes' buildings need to be revamped. Helping restore them is an ongoing SG project and part of Student Body President Ryan Moseley's platform.

Nowak said she was confident SG wouldn't have trouble selling the books, but she couldn't estimate how many students might buy them.

"They're from both championship years," Nowak said. "It's not like we're selling 1995 yearbooks."

She said she thought leaders of UF organizations might want them.

"It's a good thing to have," Nowak said. "It will help commemorate and celebrate that time in UF's history."

The 2006 yearbooks will be on sale for $10 and the 2007 yearbooks will be on sale for $15.
