UF Student Senate President Kevin Reilly is paying extra attention to his e-mail inbox this week as he waits for messages from potential running mates.

Reilly, a UF political science senior who is running for Student Body president in the Student Government elections on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27, is holding open interviews today and Friday to search for UF students to join his executive election ticket.

Reilly said he is looking for a student who wants to run for SG vice president and one to be SG treasurer.

He said he doesn't think any other Student Body president hopefuls have ever used an open-interview approach.

Resumes aren't the most important factors in picking candidates, he said.

Neither is SG experience or past leadership positions, but it helps, he added.

Instead, he said personal interviews would be the best way to find people with the passion and drive to run with him.

"What we're looking for is the brightest, hardest-working and dynamic leaders on this campus," Reilly said.

The selection interviews would be more of a discussion of goals for UF - nothing too intimidating, he said.

"I want to find someone I really mesh with and click with," Reilly said.

UF students interested in interviewing with Reilly can e-mail their resumes to him at reillyforpresident@gmail.com.
