Terry Hynes, the former dean of UF's College of Journalism and Communications, has been selected to fill the senior vice chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs position at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Hynes was among four finalists announced for the position in January. Her appointment must be approved by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents, which oversees university operations, according to a news release. She will assume her position at UNO on June 15, the release states.

Hynes served as dean of UF's journalism college from 1994 until her resignation in 2006 when she became UF's assistant vice president for the Office of University Relations.
