Updated: Fulmer denies he received subpoena

HOOVER, Ala. - Reports are flying around that Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer was served a subpoena today at SEC Media Days while giving a radio interview, according to the Tuscaloosa News.

Fulmer is denying that he received a subpoena, according to ESPN.com, but he is about to do his press conference and questions should start flying at him about the subpoena.

Apparently, he was told he has to give a deposition on Sept. 25, two days before the Vols take on Auburn. More on this when he starts talking.

Okay, so the second question asked to Fulmer was about the subpoena. He again denied having seen a subpoena and seemed frustrated about being asked the question. This is what he had to say:

"I have not seen a subpoena," Fulmer said. "As I said to all the other groups, this is not the place for that kind of thing. Great fans with a great passion about the Southeastern Conference are not interested in that kind of BS."

Strangely, while he was giving that answer, there was the unmistakable sound of lots of camera shutters going off. Was he better to take a picture of while making that statement?

So there you have it. A flat-out denial. We'll see what else he says during this press conference, which is still going on.
