To my avid readers and fashionistas: I have loved the opportunity to share my fashion tips with you each week, and I hope you gained some valuable insight into this summer's fashions. This will be my last article because in just a few short days I will be graduating and embarking on the next chapter in my life. Before I go, I want to share with you some of my key fashion staples. Let's call it Em's Guide to Summer Style.

First and foremost, you absolutely have to have at least one little black dress and little white dress in your closet, especially for living in Florida. I have acquired several of each in recent years and have an LBD for dressier occasions. I have one for the fall months and a casual one for summer.

I only wear my LWDs in the spring and summer months, and I always look for ones that transition well from day to night.

My second all-time favorite summer item is a pair of cork wedges. I wear them with almost every outfit, and I love the way the tan shoe blends with my tan skin. It makes your legs look so much longer, and the natural color complements a variety of outfits flawlessly. For those of you with fairer skin, a cork wedge may be too dark for your skin tone. But, have no fear; a bright espadrille is a perfect alternative.

When I am not in class, I spend most of my summer days in a bathing suit and cover up. I usually buy most of my bikinis at Target because they are inexpensive and come in a variety of prints and colors.

However, I will spend a little more on a great beach cover-up. With the right fabric, a cover-up can last for years and can be worn as a dress for a quick run to the grocery store or to class.

When summer rolls around, I love experimenting with a fresh, new summer scent. This year, I am in love with Tom Ford's Black Orchid perfume. It is a sweet scent with hints of jasmine and gardenia.

So far I have only worn it on special occasions, and each time I do, at least one person will compliment me on how delicious I smell. It is a powerful, sensual scent for the sophisticated woman.
