He has been to White Castle, escaped from Guantanamo Bay, and now he's coming to UF.

Kal Penn, known for his role as Kumar in "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle," will be at UF on Saturday to discuss the upcoming presidential election as part of his college tour endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for U.S. president.

Eric Conrad, co-chapter coordinator for UF's chapter of Students For Obama, said Penn will be a more accessible figure to "entertain and inform" students about the importance of the November election.

"He'll help increase awareness of the senator's campaign and at the same time promote civic awareness," Conrad said.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the free event in the Ocora Room at Pugh Hall.

Conrad said Tropical Storm Fay's possible interference with the event would be announced today.
