Midfielder Sarah Chapman was named Southeastern Conference Freshman Soccer Player of the Week on Monday.
Chapman scored the first goal in UF's 2-0 victory over No. 18 Illinois on Friday. It was also the first goal of her college career.
"When I saw that ball, I put my head down and just smacked it," she said after the game. "I was thrilled."
This is the third Freshman of the Week award for the Gators, as Tahnai Annis collected two earlier this season.
